HBA 2010-11 Fall/Winter Programs
HBA at night, we offer 2 adult programs, Monday nights 18 and over This is an informal “pick up” basketball program. Great for exercise and friendly competition. This program will be played at the Timberlane Middle school for 50 weeks starting in September. Thursday Night 30 and Over, This is an informal “pick up” basketball program. Bulldogs Boot Camp, HBA offers 2 pre seasons get in shape before the school/travel tryouts. Lady Bulldog Boot Camp with Bob Tanguay and the Boys Bulldog Boot Camp with Jack Wolff. Both camps will get you in shape for your tryouts. Don’t be huffing and puffing at the tryouts. More coming soon.
Real Deal Camp, HBA offers a pre season camp for the younger kids grades 3rd to 5th. This camp is 2 3 hours sessions on Saturdays in November. More coming soon.
Travel Basketball, HBA will run travel basketball teams from the 4th to 8th grade for boys and girls both A & B teams. Coaches meeting will be in August and player tryouts will be in October/November.HBA offers its New Online Store for all your travel and rec basketball needs. Just order you travel uniform and it is delivered to your door.

HBA Camps 2010 Shoot it Better Mini Camp With 4 years under its belt with the Shoot it Better Mini Camp, looks like they will be coming back for a 5th season next year. HBA will bring back NBA Coach Hal Wissel and NBA scout Scott Wissel next season to teach the art of shooting the basketball.
The New Basketball World Summer Camp gets Thumbs Up. The votes are in and HBA’s first Basketball World Summer camp was a success. The NBA’s Advanced Scout for the Los Angeles Clippers Scott Wissel was at the Timberlane Middle school gym for a 3 day NBA skills camp teaching basketball to HBA’s first group of camper. 6-8-10 Top 10 plays of Spring Hoops HBA is looking to video tape the Top 10 plays of Spring Hoops season. If you look in the stands you will see one of HBA score keepers videotaping most of the games. After The Finals HBA will review all the video footage and pick the Top 10 Plays of the season and post them on www.hopewellbasketball.com.

HBA Opens Online Store HBA is always try to make the players life easer when it comes to basketball. First, we set up the easiest online registration for all HBA’s programs. (It’s so easy a cave man can do it). Now, HBA is opening up an online store. This store will be opening soon and it will have everything from travel basketball uniforms, practice jerseys, coach’s jerseys, sweat pants, hooded sweat shirts and tee-shirts. 80% of the store is dedicated to travel basketball and the other 20% is for Hopewell Basketball player who want to support HBA by buying tee shirts and hooded sweat shirts. June 27th and 28th The Votes Are In and Again For the 3rd straight year the Shoot it Better Mini Camp has gotten 2 thumbs up votes from parents and campers. NBA coach Hal Wissel has done it again. Hal Wissel has turned 24 campers in to shooters if they follow his 21 day program. HBA will be asking coach Hal Wissel to come back for a 4th camp next June. HBA opens new sister website for Travel Basketball and AAU Basketball Hopewell Basketball has decided to open up another sister website www.hopewellbasketball.org. The .org website will be hosting all the travel basketball and AAU team info and schedules. Another reason for the new website is that HBA is going to try and run a Spring Travel Basketball League along with there successful Spring Hoops Program. The Spring Travel League will start in April and end in late May or early June. Teams will start in the 4th grade to the 8th grade range for both boys and girls. The website will host the travel standings, box scored and game schedule a HBA trade mark. Stay Tuned for more to come ….
Shoot it Better Mini Camp
It’s Official, for the second year in a row the Shoot it Better Mini Camp got 2 thumbs up from parents and kids. You can not beat the price if you want to learn to shoot the basketball the correct way. NBA coach Hal Wissel gave personal instructions to 36 kids on how to shoot the ball the correct way. The Shoot it Better Mini Camp is a 2 day camp consisting of learning the fundamental of shooting. The kids learned positive self-talk, relaxation, visualization, and concentration and goal setting. HBA is considering bring Coach Hal Wissel back to run a full week camp in Summer 2009. More to come as we get more info.
HBA Credit Card Registrations.
Hopewell Basketball just made life a little easer for everyone. HBA will now be accepting major credit cards, Visa and Master Card. All programs that HBA will be offering will have the Visa and Master Card icons at the top of the registration page.Just click on these icons and it will take you to the online registration page for credit cards. Just fill in the info and submit it. With in 5 minutes of completing the registration you will receive an email conformation of registration.

Hopewell Basketball Association (HBA) is now affiliated with the Jr. NBA /Jr. WNBA. In the future we will be bring you new and exciting basketball programs from the Jr. NBA /Jr. WNBA. The Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA programs emphasize fundamental skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and positive adult participation in a fun and rewarding youth basketball experience. Hopewell Elementary School, 35 Princeton Avenue, Hopewell: Proceed around the Pennington Circle and continue to follow Rt. 31 North to Rt. 654. The road bears off to the right towards a “Hopewell” sign. Follow Rt. 654 to the Borough of Hopewell. Turn right at the light onto Princeton Avenue. Follow about 1/4 mile to Hopewell Elementary School. Bear Tavern Elementary School, 1162 Bear Tavern Road: At the Pennington Circle go almost completely around and bear right after the Circle Liquors. Proceed about 3 1/2 miles. Make a left onto Bear Tavern Road. Follow about 1/4 mile to Bear Tavern Elementary at Bear Tavern Elementary will be on your left. Stony Brook Elementary School, Stephenson Road: At the Pennington Circle, bear right onto Blackwell Road (immediately after the Mobil). Turn right onto Pennington-Lawrenceville Road. Turn right onto Stephenson Road. Stony Brook Elementary will be on your right. Hopewell Valley Central High School, 252 Pennington Titusville Rd: Proceed around the Pennington Circle and continue to follow Rt. 31 North to the traffic light at Delaware Avenue (Wachovia Bank, Exxon & Pennington Market on corners). Turn left at the light. The High School is 1/4 mile on your right. Turn right after the High School.
