Spring Hoops 7th Anniversary
In 2003 Hopewell Basketball started out with the Hopewell Rockets 6th grade Travel basketball team. Both Coaches Bob Alton and Larry Frantz wanted to change basketball in Hopewell Township. They had a dream that would change basketball for resident of Hopewell Township forever.In the spring of 2004 Hopewell Basketball started the Spring Hoops Basketball Program. For the first time, there was a spring basketball league for players who loved the game of basketball. Spring Hoops started out with 96 players.  Games were played Monday through Friday at the Stony Brook gym.  Hopewell Basketball used there website for travel basketball before the start of Spring Hoops. Then they had an idea. Let do everything on the website, All games schedules, game write up, leading scorer and game action pictures. Everything was  posted in within 24 hours of the game. Players, parents and family we just a click away from getting all the information needed to play Spring Hoops. The Hopewell Basketball website was getting 1,500 hits a week.  Hopewell Basketball want the kids to learn  basketball so they made sure all the coaches played high school or college basketball with they still do now.  They increased the size of there help and started a basketball board who were former high school and college players and coaches. They found dedicated members who loved the game of basketball. And the rest is history, www.hopewellbasketball.com website now get over 5,300 web hits a week.  Hopewell Basketball Association has more basketball programs then any other organization in Mercer County and still growing.  Look who played Spring Hoops below.

       HBA Winter Jr. Hoops particpants completed their 10 week program on 2/19/11.  All 32 kids, grades K - 2nd grade, particpated in basic skills development and live game action each week.  Thanks to our volunteer coaches, Ron Ash, Mike D'Avanzo, Roy Lavine, Jim Loughery and John Savas for helping to make this happen.                         

Shoot It Better Mini Camp

HBA has been working hard in bring the community to bring you the best in new basketball programs. With the success of the Shoot it Better mini camp with NBA coach Hal Wissel.  HBA will be looking to bring this camp back again next year.  Camper who attended gave this camp two thumbs up. Keep an eye out for the next camp.

Eagles 99 HBA 87

The Eagles finished the 2007 season with a perfect 14-0 record, but not without a struggle in the season finale at Hopewell Valley Central High School in Pennington, NJ. The Hopewell All-Stars stormed out to a commanding 21-3 lead over the Eagles with a slew of three-point shots and strong defensive play. They eventually upped their lead to 30-11 after the first quarter.
But a strong second-quarter effort by the Eagles helped tie the score at 46 at the half and they eventually wore down Hopewell with a strong inside presence in the second half to come away with a 99-87 victory.
Sheldon Brown led the Eagles comeback with big plays on both ends of the court and, in the process, record a triple-double with 23 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, while posting 5 steals.
Todd Herremans manned the middle once again with 17 rebounds, 20 points, and 7 assists, while Hank Baskett poured in 24 points.
Omar Gaither scored 20 points, including four three-point shots, and A.J. Feeley chipped in with four points and four rebounds.
For the HBA All Star Jeff Molinelli scored 20 points,  Will Alton scored 14 points, Mike Valcarcel scored 12 points, Bob Gehm scored 11 points,  Suzie Noyes scored 11 points, Ali Newman scored 8 points,  Bob Alton scored 5 points,  Eric Guise, Dave Caldwell and Admir Siddiqu all scored 2 points each. Chris Tobia, Sean Murphy and Judah Matheney did not score.
